1/6/2024 0 Comments Sunless sea wrackThe process of smuggling sunlight can also be tedious, as you have to amass fuel and supplies to get to the surface and still have enough left on your way back to at least make it to the next resupply point. I found Mirrorcatch boxes to be a good- albeit finite- source of income. I'm relatively new as well, but am nearing the end of my first ambition. I’m a newer player, and I’ve found things online that say smuggling sunlight in mirrorcatch boxes. The UNSC’s goal is to evacuate Cortana, an AI based on Dr. The Covenant are looking to “ glass” Reach (essentially, to burn all life from it). Halo: Reach takes place about 20 years after Halo Wars, with the Covenant invading Reach, home of the Spartan-II program and one of humanity’s biggest colonies. The UNSC chase the Covenant through the galaxy and to the resting site of a dormant Forerunner fleet, which the humans prevent the Covenant from acquiring. A high-ranking commander finds a Forerunner relic on Harvest, which is why the Covenant are there. Halo Wars is the first game in the canon, and follows a UNSC ship attempting to relieve Harvest. The Covenant declared that humans must die because their gods willed it (truthfully, the leaders of the Covenant knew humans were “living heirs” of the Forerunners, and wanted to remove a potential threat for the religion’s leadership). In the middle of the insurrection of the human colonies, the Covenant appeared and attacked Harvest, a human planet. We’re finally getting into the events of the games here. Planet Reach after it’s been glassed by the Covenant. The Covenant/human war and the fall of Reach Going forward, keep in this in mind: The Spartans were originally designed to quell a human civil war, not fight the Covenant. One of the first Spartan-IIs to graduate from the program (and the first one Halsey met with as a 6-year-old) was John, more often known by his number 117, or his rank: Master Chief. The Spartan-II cadets received training and, eventually, physical augmentations - which came with a rather low survival rate. The government replaced these kids with clones that quickly died of “natural causes.” Catherine Halsey led the program, and abducted gifted 6-year-olds for it. The Spartan-II project wasn’t the Earth military’s first shot at creating super soldiers, but it was the first successful one. So naturally, the UNSC started abducting children. A minor insurrection against the UNSC began to build across several planets. But some of the colonies were unhappy with the politics of Earth. Many generations after being punished by the Forerunners, the humans were back to traveling the galaxy and making colonies on lesser planets. John-117, aka Master Chief, a Spartan-II Image: 343 Industries/Xbox Game Studios The Forerunners “re-seeded” (essentially a form of repopulation after activating a Halo) various species, exiled their few remaining members, and passed the Mantle to the humans. Losing the war, the Forerunners constructed and activated the titular Halo rings, which were designed to destroy all life that the Flood could potentially prey upon - starving the Flood, ensuring its demise. Without the humans around, the Flood returned and went to war with the Forerunners. The Librarian, a Forerunner, looked over humanity. The Forerunners brought humanity back to the stone age, stripping them of their interstellar travel. The humans defeated the Flood but lost to the Forerunners and their Promethean warriors (led by the Didact). Believing humanity was pushing its luck and reaching too far, the Forerunners also went to war with the humans in order to stamp them out. Humans eventually discovered the Flood, which started a brief war. With the Precursors gone, millions of years passed with the Forerunners in charge. The Didact, a Forerunner captain Image: 343 Industries via Halopedia Turning mostly to dust, the Precursors eventually became the Flood, the zombielike parasite that ruins the back half of most Halo games. There’s some debate about whether the Precursors planned to destroy the Forerunners or the Forerunners attacked unprovoked. Believing they were the superior creation, the Forerunners obliterated the Precursors and took up the Mantle of Responsibility for themselves. The Precursors had apparently decided to pass the Mantle onto the humans - letting them dictate the flow of life in the universe - rather than the Forerunners. In the Forerunner-Precursor war, the Forerunners destroyed their creators. They’re not all evil, but they are primarily responsible for nearly every problem in the Halo universe: the Flood, the Halo rings, and - to some extent, out of their control - the Covenant itself. They were positioned to be the Precursors’ original successors, and, at one time, the most powerful species in the universe. The Forerunners were humanity’s biggest rivals and serve as the primary antagonists in 343 Industries’ Halo games. The Precursors helped shape and evolve humans, the Forerunners, and many other races using the Mantle of Responsibility, a creation philosophy. The Forerunners get all the credit in the Halo games, but the Precursors came before, as their name implies. 1/5/2024 0 Comments Mushroom spore grow bagPlace your mycelium block over the drainage layer. Put the Foiled Mycelium Block and Layer It with the Soil The most recommended is pumice but you can use pebbles or charcoal. This will help to prevent waterlogging and keep your plants healthy. Place rocks at the bottom of your container. Then, wrap aluminum foil around it, exposing only the top layer where you plan for the mushrooms to sprout. You need to clean or sterilize your container and other tools like scissors, tweezers, and spoon using 70% isopropyl alcohol.Īlso, cut a block from your mushroom spawn. In addition to your chosen container, you will need to prepare your pebbles, potting soil, and plants (real or artificial). However, during the first 7 days, you need to keep the terrarium in a dark area for the mushrooms to fruit. It should be in a spot where there is indirect sunlight, such as near a window. One person that popularized this art form is a mysterious Japanese social media channel that goes by the username “Kinocorium.” This channel’s mushroom terrariums project started in the fall of 2015 with the concept of “growing mushrooms in an aquarium.” In Japanese, a mushroom terrarium is called “ kinocorium” ( きのこリウム), from the word “ kinoco” which means “ mushroom.” It is also referred to as “mushroomrium,” and is often likened to the art of making bonsai. Terrariums are usually designed to provide a stable environment for animals, plants, and fungi. This way, all of my shoots are organized, and I can easily navigate thousands of images to find the one I want. All of the files that I shoot go into capture, finals go to Output, and retouched images go into Selects. Capture One will create 4 folders: Capture Output, Selects, and Trash. Each raw file captured in that session is also named like this, as well as each exported file contains the name of the raw file and +the export version (full-res, web, etc).Įach shoot is a session, which gets its own name. This helps me to determine what happened and when. I title my sessions in the following format: dd-mm-yyyy-shoot-description. Session Functionality & OrganizationĪnother bonus of Capture One over Lightroom is the ability to make each production into a session. Then again, I don’t see Capture One’s menu being that hard to navigate. This all may sound unnecessary to a beginner photographer, which is where Lightroom wins: its export menu is simple and easy. It just helps me keep everything organized, especially on large productions. The ability to make each recipe export to a particular folder, have the file named after the version it was exported as, and be able to track what was exported and what was not is a game-changer for my workflow. The ability to create custom process recipes, save them and use them over and over again for a specific client or purpose has saved me hours of time. This is exactly where the proven recipes and the export menu of Capture One are irreplaceable. You often find yourself having to export the same image in multiple variants, sizes, and versions. Usually, however, there are even more formats that the client requests. This helps my clients save time and upload an image that is plenty for social (web), while also giving a full-resolution file to crop, adjust and print on large format media. I always deliver my files in at least two formats: full-res and web. This is also useful for me as I can be far from the monitor but check images on my phone easily. This app is completely free, and I love using this on big productions to make sure that the client has their own preview and is not crowding the monitor area. Capture One allows users to connect to a local network and preview as well as rate the images. While the client sees this, I can be at the back making some adjustments via my laptop and displaying them on the big screen to the client.Īnother big one for me is Capture Pilot. Because I don’t want people tampering with anything on my computer besides rating and tags, I set up the workspace for shooting to only display the image, file name, star rating, and color tag. For workspace for photoshoots is vastly different from my editing workspace. This one is another big one for me, as I tend to use my laptop in combination with a monitor, as well as a phone. So, if you shoot tethered and want a faster, smoother workflow that doesn’t stall production, go for Capture One. The only benefit I see in tethering into Lightroom is being able to see the image you captured on the back of your screen, however, why would you want to do that if there is a full-scale preview available anyways? Capture One provides more control over your camera, live view, focus adjustment options, and so much more that Lightroom lacks. Additionally, Lightroom didn’t allow for the advanced tethering features that Capture One has. Even on a modern computer, with a 20mp camera, it was still far too slow to be considered adequate for a fast-paced professional workflow. Having tried tethering into Lightroom exactly once, I saw how inefficient and slow it was. If you are shooting tethered, Capture One is pretty much the only viable option. I thought iBank 4 was great at first - it let me download transactions from Discover, which Quicken 2006 never did, and it did a really nice job reconciling them with entries I'd keyed in by hand. But Quicken-like programs bring a lot of tools and usability to the task. If your budgeting needs - or concerns - are simple, a spreadsheet could be the best tool for you. And, most importantly for me, tools for reconciling credit card and bank statements. They also have tools to download data directly from your bank accounts or investment accounts. The interfaces and tools are optimized for household finances, including more complex aspects like mortgages, auto loans, paycheck splits, and taxes. You benefit from smart developers thinking through and implementing the conventions of finance and giving you an easy tool to track and understand your finances with. Your question is like any other question of the sort: why buy a specialized program dedicated to a task rather than hacking it together in spreadsheet or a database? For instance: why use an address book program when you can do it yourself in Excel? It depends on how much time you want to spend on re-inventing this task, how much you care about the task itself, and what you want out of it.įor $30-$60, you don't have to re-invent accounting in a spreadsheet. That said, every time I've emailed them, I've received a response within 24 hours. My main problem with See Finance is that there are no user forums and no developer blog/twitter. You can also tell it to auto label transactions based purely on the amount of the transaction - really useful for me since I pay my rent by check and so the only identifying information is that it's the same amount each month. Especially nice that it will show you potential duplicated transactions and color them based on how sure it is that the transaction is duplicated or not. I've been demoing See Finance for ~6 months and am pretty happy with it. Also their import auto tag/filters were pretty limited. I had lots of problems with account-account transfers not being duplicated on both ends. Too many problems with display/GUI bugs that would affect displayed account value (especially for stock portfolios) that I saw in v2 and continued to see in v3. That said, I used it for version 2 and 3 and I wouldn't recommend it. IBank isn't a new product (it's on version 4 now IIRC) and has been around for years. I also looked at iBank but it seems to be a new product, and I have so much data invested in Quicken that I feel uncomfortable with a product when I don't have a handle on long term viability. Any MoneyDance users who can allay my fears, and can comment on the transition from Quicken to MoneyDance? MoneyDance seems reasonably popular, but one worry I have is that Lion will also not include a Java runtime (even though it will be "easy" to install one.). I have a ton of data in my Quicken file going back to the "early days" of this software, starting with the Windows version (sorry), running the Windows version under Wine on Linux, migrating to Mac - and spending days fixing import problems and the like. I have little desire to buy Quicken 2007 first just to upgrade, especially as the only one I found online for sale is over $150! Further, as far as I can tell from the Intuit website, there is a migration strategy from Quicken Mac 2007 to Quick Essentials Mac, but there does not appear to be a migration strategy from Quicken 2004. It may still work for me as I don't do online bill paying, but i do track investments and it sounds like this product has limited or no support for that level of functionality. Quicken's current Mac "offering," Quicken Essentials for Mac, appears from everything i have read/seen to be a substantial step backward in features and functionality. However, now that Lion will not include support for Rosetta or any PowerPC application, I am going to have to lay out some sort of upgrade plans. I am still using Quicken 2004 I've never had a reason to "upgrade" before. Starting to think about what I'm going to do when Lion is out.seeing as how Lion will not support Rosetta. 1/5/2024 0 Comments Xbar vs x3barBut the basic difference is that, unlike the X bar chart, they consider the previous value means at each point. The cumulative sum ( CUSUM) and the exponentially weighted moving average ( EWMA) charts also monitor the mean of the process. Additionally, it is an example of statistical process control. These combination charts help to understand the stability of processes and detect the presence of special cause variation. It is actually two plots to monitor the process mean and the process range (as described by standard deviation) over time. With a large sample size in the subgroup, the standard deviation is a better measure of variation than the range because it considers all the data, not just minimum and maximum values. Manually, it is very easy to compute the X Bar R Control chart, whereas the sigma chart may be difficult due to tedious calculations and large sample sizes. Selection of an appropriate control chart is very important in control chart mapping, otherwise ended up with inaccurate control limits for the data. The basic difference is that X bar S charts plot the subgroup standard deviation, whereas R charts plot the subgroup range. X bar S charts are also similar to X Bar R Control charts. Conversely, the S charts provide a better understanding of the spread of subgroup data than the range. These charts are used when the subgroups have large sample sizes. X Bar S charts often use control charts to examine the process mean and standard deviation over time. 1/5/2024 0 Comments Nguy vu facebookThe KingRadio also directed his fans to "smash out her teeth and attack her relatives" after she posted a vlog questioning his business practices in January. The higher risk is specifically linked with the antidepressants venlafaxine and amitriptyline. That condition is called gestational diabetes. Some research also links use of antidepressants during pregnancy with a higher risk of diabetes during pregnancy. But most studies have shown that the risk is very small. The connection between antidepressant use during pregnancy and the risk of autism spectrum disorder in babies is not clear. That's especially true for people who have serious depression. Also, stopping your treatment or slowly lowering the dose might raise the risk of depression coming back after you give birth. But there's no proof that stopping antidepressants or slowly reducing the dose near the end of pregnancy lowers the risk of these symptoms. These symptoms may last for up to two weeks after birth. The tricyclic antidepressant clomipramine (Anafranil) might be linked with birth defects in babies, including heart problems. The upbeat music and catchy melody add to the charm of the song and make it a fun and enjoyable listen. The lyrics are imaginative and non-linear, allowing for many different interpretations. Overall, Buttercup seems to be a quirky love song that uses electricity as a metaphor to convey the intensity of the singer's feelings. Buttercup Jack StauberPop Food Plopscotch Records Released on: Jack Stauber - Buttercup (Lyrics). The last line of the verse, 'that hurt', could suggest that the love interest has rejected them, or that the singer is simply pretending to be hurt. The final verse continues to express desire for electrification, with the singer adding a touch of humor by addressing their love interest as 'my little buttercup'. However, the overall vibe of the song remains upbeat and playful. The bridge shifts the tone slightly, with the singer acknowledging their vulnerability and admitting that they've been wrong. The repeated phrase 'Electrify mine' can be interpreted as a desire for the love interest to reciprocate with the same level of intensity, especially when they sing "Can't look at your eyes/ Without sparking some." The chorus reiterates this desire for electrification, with the singer pleading 'Electrify my heart'. The next verse seems to be directed towards a love interest, as the singer is using electricity as a metaphor for the intense feelings they have. The first verse suggests that the singer is procrastinating, but also too afraid to take action, expressing that they'll do it 'sometime', but they are 'locked up on the button' and 'pushed it in too far'. Buttercup by Jack Stauber is a fun and catchy song with interesting and poetic lyrics that are open to multiple interpretations.
